Your agent says it’s done. Tallyback checks.

Tallyback is a verified-action layer for AI agents and integrations. An agent asks for a change in an outside system. Tallyback makes the change, reads the system back, and reports success only when the read-back matches what was asked for.

01 · The problem

A success response is not proof.

Agents and integrations act on systems they do not control. The request goes out, the API answers 200, and the agent reports done. But that answer only says the request was accepted. It does not say the record actually changed.

When nobody reads the system back, a failed or half-applied change looks exactly like a finished one. The light goes out along one strand and nothing comes home.

02 · The loop

Every action runs the same loop.

  1. 01

    Intent

An app or an AI agent sends an Intent. It names who is asking, which record to change, the outcome they want, and an idempotency key so the same request can never run twice.

  2. 02

    Check

Tallyback observes the record as it is right now, checks policy, and confirms the change is a legal next step. Anything that fails a check is rejected before a single write happens.

  3. 03

    Act

An adapter carries out the change in the outside system. Vendor endpoints, field names and statuses live in the adapter, never in the core.

  4. 04

    Read back

Tallyback reads the outside system again on its own. The reading has to be fresh and has to belong to the same record, or it does not count.

  5. 05

    Compare and record

Tallyback compares what it read with the outcome that was asked for. It returns a Result and writes audit events whether the answer is yes or no.

03 · Verified

VERIFIED means somebody looked.

In a broadcast studio, the tally light tells you a camera is really live. Tallyback is that light for agent actions. It returns VERIFIED only when the read-back shows the requested outcome.

  • VERIFIED The read-back shows the outcome that was asked for.
  • FAILED The adapter proved that nothing changed.
  • INDETERMINATE The outcome cannot be confirmed, so the record stays fenced and nothing retries it blindly.

04 · Anywhere an agent touches a system

One core. Many systems.

The core understands transactions. Profiles understand industries. Adapters understand vendors. A new system needs a profile and an adapter, not a new core.

Tekmetric

Auto repair orders

An agent marks a repair order as authorized or work started. Tallyback reads the order back from the shop system and confirms it really moved before anyone tells the customer.

Reference profile built. Live adapter waiting on vendor API access.

Stripe test mode

Invoices

An agent finalizes or voids an invoice. Tallyback retrieves the invoice and checks its status changed, and pairs its own duplicate protection with Stripe's idempotency keys.

Any CRM with an API

CRM updates

An agent advances a deal or updates a contact. Tallyback confirms the CRM record shows the change before the agent reports success to a person or another agent.
